This is a hybrid role based out of Malvern, PA (3 days in office)
The Market & Economic Insights Manager is a strategic, forward-looking role within the Business Intelligence and Insights team, responsible for analyzing and interpreting economic trends to drive business decisions. This position will provide insights into how shifts in the economy impact supply, demand, and consumer behavior, delivering essential knowledge to inform and strengthen the company’s strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence and Insights, this role will distinguish itself through a deep focus on external economic factors, providing a critical understanding of the market landscape and customer resilience.

Responsibilities
Economic Impact Analysis: Assess macroeconomic indicators (e.g., inflation, GDP, interest rates) to evaluate their effects on business performance and customer demand. Translate complex economic data into actionable insights that inform strategic planning and risk management.
Consumer Behavior and Sensitivity Analysis: Track changes in consumer behavior in response to economic shifts, including price sensitivity and demand elasticity. Provide insights that support refined pricing strategies and targeted market segmentation.
Supply and Demand Forecasting: Develop forecasts of supply and demand under varying economic conditions to guide resource allocation and identify risks and growth opportunities.
Market and Competitive Trend Analysis: Conduct research to identify emerging market trends, competitor movements, and regional economic differences, ensuring the company remains competitively positioned across markets.
Scenario Planning and Risk Assessment: Lead scenario planning exercises, creating models that simulate economic impacts on the business. Provide recommendations for mitigating adverse effects and maximizing opportunities within different economic climates.
Geographic and Industry Benchmarking: Analyze geographic and industry-specific economic conditions, benchmarking company performance against peers to identify strengths and areas for growth.
Consumer Confidence and Resilience Tracking: Regularly monitor consumer confidence indices and assess customer segments for economic resilience, delivering insights that support strategic decisions in customer retention and acquisition.
Real-Time Economic Dashboard Development: Design and manage dashboards to monitor critical economic indicators, providing timely updates and insights to internal stakeholders for agile decision-making.
Thought Leadership and Research: Act as a thought leader by staying ahead of economic trends, policy changes, and market developments. Present findings and best practices to internal teams, ensuring the business is informed and prepared for economic shifts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Marketing, Operations, and other departments to integrate economic insights into business strategies, fostering a data-informed culture that supports long-term growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in economic analysis, market research, or a related field, with a focus on data-driven insights.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis tools and economic modeling.
- Proven ability to translate complex economic data into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
